Tips for Those Who Sweat Too Much

E-mail Print PDF
Someone who doesn't sweat has a serious physical problem and may suffer from all sorts of health problems and concerns. Many people wish they didn't need to perspire but it's very necessary for one's health and safety; it's not difficult for the body to get overheated just through everyday activities and sweat is necessary to keep the body's temperature level and even. It also helps to keep the skin hydrated and smooth and helps to flush out toxins and bacteria from the system as well.

Inactive Sweat Glands

So as unpleasant as it may be, sweat is actually a very important part of one's health and well-being. Without it, the body gets overheated and the skin gets very dry, as anyone suffering from inactive sweat glands can tell you. But for those who think they perspire too much, this problem too is very unpleasant. While sweat itself has no odor, when not rinsed away it sits on the skin and collects or traps bacteria which has an unpleasant smell. It can also be sticky on one's skin when it doesn't evaporate quickly, and be an embarrassment when it soaks through clothes. So how can you deal with the problem when you sweat too much? Here are some simple tips and tricks to remember.

Keep Yourself Cool

First, do everything you can to keep yourself cool. It might sound basic but sometimes people forget how easily they can start to sweat when their environment is hot and stuffy, or when they're wearing clothes that are tight and uncomfortable. A small fan, a cool beverage, and loosening the tie can all help to make the body more comfortable. Be mindful of fabrics as well, since wool, nylon, and polyester can all make a person sweat; these fabrics are used by those who manufacture winter clothing since they work so well at trapping body heat!

Use Dress Shields

Don't hesitate to use dress shields if you sweat under the arms. These are available in a wide range of sizes and are perfect for both men and women. They absorb the sweat before it can soak through one's clothes. This can help to cut down on the embarrassment of having perspiration stains in the armpits and they can also help to keep you dry and comfortable as well. They're easily available online or at most better clothing stores or sewing supply stores. You can also take some time during the day to step into the restroom and blot yourself down with a paper towel so that nothing soaks through your clothes.

Prescription from Your Doctor

Your doctor can also prescribe a stronger antiperspirant if you sweat; these products can also typically be used on the hands, feet, and other areas where there is excessive perspiration. There's no need to hesitate to talk to your doctor about this problem; he or she has probably seen many others with the same concerns as yours. While everyone does perspire, excessive sweat shouldn't get in the way of you enjoying your life or being able to do your job every day.
